This year, too, our second-year trainees went on a journey. The destination of the internship abroad for our future wholesale and foreign trade management clerks Hannah and Selina was Crete. From March 28 to April 20, 2023, the two were able to provide support in the field of marketing and event management in their internship companies in Heraklion and gain a lot of experience. In addition to improving English skills, the focus was on intercultural experiences and personal development.

The stay abroad was funded by the Erasmus+ programme.

The “Rheder Model” is a project in which regional companies work together to achieve a larger funding volume. Currently, 23 companies have decided to support the project. On Monday, April 17, 2023, we, as the idea generator and co-initiator, were able to present the selected projects for the year 2023 with the other jury members. With a total of 20,000 euros, three projects can be funded. The German Red Cross is supported by the “Heart-Safe Rhede” project in setting up a defibrillator network in Rhede. In addition, an automatic grave light from Büngern Technik with sustainable grave lights will be promoted. In addition, the Senior Citizens’ Advisory Board is looking forward to the construction of a boules court for “everyone” in the Bürgerpark Rhede. We are now looking forward to the implementation of the projects and of course look forward to other companies that would also like to get involved in the “Rheder Model”.

As part of our activities in the area of “Corporate Social Responsibility”, we regularly exchange information with other companies about current topics and challenges. On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, we had the pleasure of welcoming friendly companies to our CSR experience meeting. The focus of the now 5th exchange meeting of the group was the main topic of employee appraisals. The goals, planning, implementation and results were discussed together. In a lively discussion, the group shared its own experiences and exchanged ideas for future implementation. After the exchange, interested visitors had the opportunity to take a tour of the company. We thank all participating companies for the successful event and look forward to a joint exchange at our next meeting.

A total of 65 companies, institutions and schools took part in the azubiSTART fair at Rhede Comprehensive School on Saturday, 04 March 2023. From 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., we were also able to report on our training offer with our team of trainees and training management and provide information about the benefits of training at HERDING. The focus here is not only on the weekly internal English lessons, but also on the internship abroad and numerous seminars and excursions. For the start of training in 2023, we are still accepting applications for the areas of wholesale and foreign trade management (m/f/d) and warehouse logistics specialist (m/f/d) by e-mail to ausbildung@chb.de.

On Saturday, January 28, 2023, the 9th career fair took place at the Israhel-van-Meckenem-Realschule in Bocholt. We were also present and provided information about our apprenticeships and HERDING as a training company at our booth. Our trainees were able to answer the numerous questions of the pupils at eye level and report on their very personal impressions and experiences of vocational training. The personal exchange at training fairs is also important in order to present the professions individually to interested parties and to report on the implementation of training at HERDING. This includes internal and external seminars as well as excursions or the four-week internship abroad. We are pleased to have given the visitors an impression of us and our atmosphere in the trainee team and look forward to receiving inquiries about open training positions and internships.
